We sang carols outside the village shop.
Neil and Janet provided some warming mulled wine – which improved our mood but sadly not our melody – a jolly good time was had by all, especially our very own Three Wise Men
We didn’t collect money but gave mince pies to the poor souls who had to listen to us singing and a list of all the forthcoming church and chapel services in the local area.
The following day was Carols and Calories in the Village Hall.
Shirley read a lovely Christmas story told through the eyes of a child, Ron amused us with a Pam Ayres Christmas Ode, Gerald read a moving letter to the Baby Jesus about Advent and Mr Pentecost (in his role as Chief Elf) delivered the Orientation Lecture to all the new recruits who were going to be helping Santa this year.
Reverend Ruth led the prayers and kept a watchful eye on the glasses of sherry.
Wrenbury School kindly donated this magnificent tree and by the following Sunday they had decorated it beautifully too.
